San Fruttuoso and Portofino

The view from the Liguria sea is beautiful! With this day trip you will forget about traffic and long waits in the car and admire the various coastal towns: small villages that alternate with the most significant towns, beaches and coves where you can appreciate the colour of the sea in all shades of blue. The day trip includes a stop and a free visit to San Fruttuoso, before continuing to Portofino. Departing from Genoa, you reach San Fruttuoso after about 50 minutes by boat, a town which is accessible only by boat. There are no roads to get there, only a few paths to walk on in the shade of dense vegetation. Our boat docks at the exclusive landing jetty, next to a small beach where tourists can swim and enjoy a coffee in the small bar overlooking the sea. You can visit the famous Abbey of San Fruttuoso, a humble former home of fishermen and thereafter the hideout of pirates, until it became the property of Doria, the Genoese princes. The monastery with the Cloister, Sala Capitolare and the Church can be visited. The boat then proceeds to Portofino, the most famous village in Liguria, renowned for its bars and restaurants and terrace overlooking the piazzetta mondana, full of up-market shops.

Learning objectives: to learn about the formation of the Ligurian coast and its characteristics, as well as the historical and cultural aspects of the places visited.

Target audience: all types of schools and grade levels.

Participation fees: € 17.50 per student; 1 free ticket for teachers and guardians for every 10 paying students; € 18.00 for extra teachers and guardians..

Notes: departure at 10:00, 11:00 or 14:00. Duration of about 4 hours. Available from January to December. It is possible to stop in both locations for about 40 minutes or choose to visit only one for about 90 minutes. The trips will only be made in favourable weather and sea conditions and if a minimum number of 40 participants is reached.
